Tickets went on sale this morning at The Palace Theatre for Music Cares – A Benefit For Lisa Guyer. Taking place on Sunday, April 27, at 8: 00 p.m., the show will assist Lisa Guyer with her expenses from her recent surgery to repair a ruptured aneurysm on her vocal cord.
Guyer, known for her rangy, powerhouse vocals, mastery of technique and presentation, and sensitive song selection, has been resting comfortably since her medical procedure in Denver, Colorado several weeks ago.
A popular figure in the New England music scene, Guyer will be getting by with a little help from her friends. Some of New England’s best and best known musicians will perform.
The show will be headlined by internationally acclaimed hard rock band Godsmack, fronted by Sully Erna, who has a personal friendship with Guyer. The two had met in the local music scene long before Erna found fame and fortune with Godsmack.
Other featured performers read like a who‘s who in the New England music scene: Chad LaMarsh, Beautiful Losers (Bob Seger Tribute), Brian Maes, Barry Goudreau, Fortune, Charlie Farren, Four Sticks (Led Zeppelin Tribute), Sully Erna Solo, Bobby Livingston, Kim Riley, and Colene Walters.
The house band will be made up of Guyer’s long time friends and musical associates Nate Comp, Chris Lester, David Stefanelli, Tim Theriault, and, of course, Gardner Berry, Guyer‘s musical partner throughout their stints in Manchester restaurant house bands and their hugely popular 20 year run as Mama Kicks.
“It’s gonna be a night to remember, a night you won’t want to miss,” Berry said.
