Dear Gentle Readers, BillCopelandMusicNews.com has some very exciting music scene news for you all. March of 2018 is going to be hopping, and I mean hopping like Jack Rabbit, like Spring Heeled Jack. There is more cool shows going on this month than what is theoretically possible. I not just referring to the wild St. Patrick’s Day shows that I have rounded up for your perusal. This merry month of March offers more band shows than you can shake a shillelagh at. I hope to be able to get out to many of these events. So, rather than stay home and watch the Leprechaun horror movies, get out to see a fabulous New England band or singer-songwriter. Check it out:

March 2: Puerto Rican-born MacArthur “Genius Grant” fellow and multi-Grammy-nominated saxophonist-composer Miguel Zenón joins conductor Fred Harris and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Festival Jazz Ensemble and clarinetist/composer Evan Ziporyn in two special benefit concerts for the victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. The first concert is in Cambridge, Massachusetts. A second is scheduled for New York City.
Both performances will feature the world premiere of En Pie De Lucha, Zenón’s new composition for jazz ensemble.
