Wachusett Valley Music Festival scheduled for September 14, Amy Ray headlines

The Wachusett Music Series and the Wachusett Valley Music Festival (formerly, Wachusett Valley Folk Festival) has brought world-class musicians to its intimate, inspirational, often sold-out events.

It’s probably safe to say that many folks view the event as The Little Festival That Could. Their annual festival (voted one of The op Summer Festivals in New England by Yankee Magazine for several years) is just one reason that Lancaster, a suburban, Metro-West town with less than 7,000 residents, is on the map for musicians, music fans, and tourists.

In the last few years, Wachusett Music has proudly presented musical icons such as, Richie Havens, Arlo Guthrie, Peter Yarrow of Peter Paul & Mary, David Wilcox, Mary Gauthier, and in 2012 we kicked it up a notch with Grammy winning, Joan Osborne.

This year, on Saturday, September 14th, Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls will headline the festival in the center of Lancaster.

Co-headlining are some extraordinary buzz worthy New England performers, Lori Diamond & Fred Abatelli, The Rafters, Harvey Reid & Joyce Andersen, and Patty Barkas. While this is a family-friendly day of music, yummy food, and unique artisans & vendors, the highlight of the festival is actually at the end of the day when all of the headliners joyously “jam” together. You just never know what you’re going to get, but you do know that it’s sure to be amazing.

The festival also do a huge non-perishable food drive for the Worcester Food Bank as well as present folk music and acoustic singer-songwriters. apart of the day. All details are at www.wachusettmusic.com
