The following information just came to me from Bobby Livingston, organizer of this annual fundraiser. Livington’s Bob Dylan tribute band Napoleon In Rags with special guests from greater-Boston/New England’s music scene will raise funds to benefit the Brad Delp Foundation and the Crohn’s And Colitis Foundation Of America. The show will take place at Whippersnappers in Londonderry, New Hampshire on May 24th.
Londonderry, NH—On May 24th, in celebration of Bob Dylan’s 71st birthday, some of New England’s finest musicians will be performing to benefit the Brad Delp Foundation and The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America at Whippersnappers in Londonderry. The third annual event is being headlined by singer Lisa Guyer, guitarist Charlie Farren and Boston Music Award winner Laurie Geltman,
“Dylan’s songwriting has influenced so many musicians and touched so many people’s lives, his importance is immeasurable” said Geltman, who is flying in from Los Angeles for the event. “Brad Delp was one of the great voices of rock. Mix that with these serious causes and it’s a perfect evening for me to lend my support. “
Others scheduled to appear include Woody Geissmann of the Del Fuegos, members of Delps former band Beatlejuice, Raising Scarlet, and a slew of special guests. There is only one condition of performing on stage for this evening: all songs performed must have been written by Bob Dylan.
“Spreading the songs of Dylan through benefits like this is a passion” said the evenings organizer Bobby Livingston “Although this is our third year in New Hampshire, I have been hosting birthday bashes since 1996.” Livingston hopes to raise critical funds to support the two charities.
There will be a $20 donation accepted as a cover charge to attend, and there will be auction items. The Brad Delp Foundation will receive half the funds raised at Whippersnappers to award music related grants, scholarships and funds for school music programs. The other half will be given to
the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America, whose mission is to cure Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases.
