BillCopelandMusicNews takes on paranormal researcher Ce Ce Carol and others

What’s up with all of these people who are trying to pass themselves off as ghost hunters? Do any of these people, like Ce Ce Carol, actually have college degrees in science? Have any of these “paranormal investigators” ever been endorsed by scientists at major colleges or universities? Why don’t they ever bring the ghost of a deceased person into a lighted lecture hall instead of those darkened houses with strange lighting? What do you all think of these “experts” on the paranormal?

I saw one episode of Carol’s internet TV show CC The Huntress which struck me as being totally ridiculous. While the program’s intro and Carol’s exploration of the haunted area was taped in color, the “contact” portion was taped in black andwhite. Why tape the “contact” in black and white? Wouldn’t be more convincing to tape the “evidence” in color where it can be more clearly seen?

In these black and white portions, CC The Huntress, holds up a necklace that she claims is being swung and back forth by spirits until the spirits stop it dead in its tracks. She also holds up a pair of divining rods that she claims are being moved to point in a certain direction by the spirits she is seeking. I suspect CC The Huntress, or Ce Ce Carol–which I suppose is her real name—, is actually manipulating these movements and that she tapes these segments in black and white to make it harder for the viewer to detect her slight of hand.

If Ce Ce Carol wants to gain credibility for her paranormal “research,” she should bring along a scientist who teachese at a nearby college to act as a rational skeptic. If the scientist cannot explain what is happening, then it leaves a door open for Carol to claim, without dispute, that her evidence indicates there are causes rooted in the “unknown.” Somehow, I don’t think Ce Ce Carol will ever invite a scientist from a respected college or university to accompany her ghost hunts. She likely knows that a scientist will pull down the curtain of her claims. A scientist could, at the very least, proved a cause is rooted in the physical world. At the most, a man of science would be the first to pull down the curtain if he saw any slight of hand done by Carol to make it appear an object is moving on its own momentum.

But, don’t take my word for it. Go to Ce Ce Carol’s site CC The Huntress. com. You can watch her show, which recently won an award for being a good show about the paranormal, on her site.

Interestingly enough, Carol introduces her show with a teaser that depicts her as an action hero, a modern day Zena, Warrior Princess. Then, surrounded by tough looking men, she directs a karate kick toward the camera. I’m still scratching my head wondering why a paranormal researcher needs to know karate and why she needs to surround herself by a posse of thugs. Is she trying to intimidate the spirits into communicating with her? Or, are the tough guys there to intimidate people who might question Carol’s work?
