Some blues news from New Hampshire: Little Harpo continues his blues jam every Sunday evening at 5:oo p.m. at Johnny’s Pizza in Hudson, New Hampshire. His house band includes guitarist/singer Chris Noyes, drummer Lee Sevigny, and bassist LauraJean Graham.
Strange Brew Tavern in Manchester has lost its Sunday Night blues jam host Howard Randall. Randall, who has taken time off from it before, has again stepped down. New hosts are musicians John Ross and John Mederios Jr.
The Sunday Night Blues Jam at Strange Brew Tavern last Sunday night featured regular guests Dave Glannon on vocals and harp, Joe Cunningham on saxophone, Rachel Green on bass, and blues belter Mr. Nick.
Needless to day, Mr. Nick entertained the blues crowd with his own inimitable style. Green was in the pocket on all of her guest spots. Cunningham played a soulful saxophone melody in each of his spots.
Chris Noyes, who also made the trip over from Johnny’s Pizza, showed at the Strange Brew Tavern, and everyone was wide-smile happy to have him singing and playing.
Johnny’s Pizza is located just off of 102 in Hudson, New Hampshire. It is just after the townline coming in from Londonderry west on 102. The Town of Hudson will not let Johnny’s Pizza put up a sign on 102. So, there is only a small portable sign put up during business hours.
